- Russia threatens the US: if it delivers longer-range missiles to Ukraine, it will cross a "red line" and become part of the conflict.
The US approves a new delivery of arms to Ukraine worth 600 million and with more ammunition for HIMARS missiles
The new $600 million US military aid package to Ukraine to fight the Russian invasion includes additional ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS).
The HIMARS is a long-range missile system that the US has given Ukraine in the past and that is proving decisive in the Ukrainian defense.
In a statement, the US Department of Defense said the new aid includes 36,000 105-millimeter artillery pieces and 1,000 155-millimeter precision-guided artillery pieces.
The package also includes four anti-artillery radars, four trucks, and eight trailers for heavy transport, anti-drone systems, and demining material, among others.
With this amount, the US has allocated $15.8 billion in military aid to Ukraine since President Joe Biden entered the White House in January 2021, a figure that has increased significantly since the start of the war in Ukraine in February this year.
