A man stabs two police officers with a knife in central London
A man has stabbed two British police officers in central London. It occurred near Leicester Square and the agents, whose health status is unknown, have been transferred to a hospital.
The Metropolitan Police report that they used a taser during the incident, which occurred at 6am local time (7am peninsular), to arrest a man suspected of causing serious injury to two officers.
Footage from the scene shows police officers guarding an area of Whitcomb Street that has been cordoned off.
Four ambulances were sent to the scene of the alleged attack and three people were treated, the two officers and the perpetrator, before being taken to hospital, according to local media.
This attack against police officers coincides in time and space with the burning chapel of Queen Elizabeth II.
A spokesman for the agency has indicated that "investigations are underway into the circumstances surrounding the incident," according to the British newspaper The Telegraph.

For his part, the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has condemned the "totally terrible" attack. "These brave officers were doing their duty and supporting the public at this crucial time for our country," he said, referring to the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
"My thoughts and prayers are with them, their loved ones, and fellow police officers in the aftermath of this ignominious attack. Our Police officers run into danger to protect others and keep us safe, for which we owe them a great debt of gratitude."
In this sense, Khan has emphasized that "attacks against the Police will not be tolerated and anyone responsible will be arrested and tried." "I ask everyone with information to step forward to ensure that whoever is responsible for this disgusting attack feels the full weight of the law," he said.
