Riots in Paris after a demonstration in rejection of the racist shooting in which three Kurds died

The demonstration of Kurdish militants in Paris in tribute to the three victims of a shooting in front of a cultural venue of that community in the French capital degenerated this Saturday into riots and clashes with the forces of order, who responded with the launching of tear gas.

Several thousand people, many of whom carried flags of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), demonstrated peacefully in Republic Square, a few meters from the place where a sixty-year-old man killed three people on Friday and injured many others in a deadly shootout, before being arrested.

Despite the fact that the demonstration took place for the most part peacefully, several incidents and riots were recorded in its surroundings, with damage to street furniture and objects being thrown at the police officers who were watching.

Numerous personnel wearing vests marked with the initials of the Kurdish Democratic Committee in France (CDKF), organizer of the demonstration, tried by all means to interpose themselves between the violent militants and the forces in order to prevent the incidents.

However, it did not prevent the group of exalted from causing damage to the place and throwing objects at the agents, who responded by firing tear gas and impregnating the entire sector, including the Plaza de la República itself, where there were militants displaying calm their flags.

The insistence of the CDKF order service, which sent calls for calm from a truck, ended up dispersing the most excited protesters, although the tension remained.
