Putin cancels a visit to a tank factory at the last minute and for no known reason

The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, has suspended this weekend a visit that he had planned to make to an arms factory in Yekaterinburg, without knowing the reason for the cancellation of the act.

As reported by the Mirror, the Uralvagonzavod tank plant was prepared for the presence of the president, who was going to supervise the production of combat tanks, promoted for the war in Ukraine.

Instead, local media reported the sudden cancellation of the event, fueling speculation about possible Putin health problems or perceived security threats related to the war in Ukraine.

The city of Yekaterinburg, where the Uralvagonzavod factory is located, had been "preparing for days" for Putin's visit. On Friday, security was high at Moscow airports with several flights to the Urals linked to his trip.

Workers at the plant, which now also uses prison labor to boost the production of tanks and flamethrowers, were told at noon that Putin would not be attending the visit.

This factory is very important for Russia. Proof of this is that former Russian President Dmitri Medvedev visited it two months ago and in August it was Sergei Shoigu, the Defense Minister, who did the same, with the apparent aim of increasing production.
