A young man stabbed and beat his mother with a frying pan for disapproving of the mess in his room

A 17-year-old boy residing in Cocoa, on the east coast of Florida (USA), was arrested on the charge of attempted murder of his mother, who he stabbed several times and hit with a frying pan because she recriminated him on several occasions the lack of cleanliness in his room, a local media reported last Tuesday.

Tobías "Toby" Jacob Brewer, who was arrested on November 30, faces the crime of "first-degree attempted murder" for allegedly beating his mother with a frying pan until it broke and stabbing her several times with a pocket knife.

According to the police report, the minor said that he did this because he was "annoyed" with his mother because she constantly reproached him for "the lack of cleanliness in his room."

After attacking his mother, Brewer took money from her purse, took her car keys, and fled the scene.

Police officers pursued the defendant through several states until the car he was driving, in which his girlfriend and two other friends were traveling, crashed in a wooded area and they escaped on foot.

Shortly after, Brewer was arrested and the case was transferred to adult court, the outlet added.

For her part, the boy's mother remains hospitalized in critical condition.
