Trump could announce his candidacy for the 2024 elections in a few days

Donald Trump lost the 2020 elections, but he is getting closer to returning to the political front row. The tycoon and former US president between 2017 and 2021 could announce the official status of his candidacy in the coming days.

The news website Axios has reported that Trump will announce his 2024 candidacy on November 14, just six days after the crucial mid-term elections on Tuesday, November 8.

Meanwhile, Trump is already attacking his rivals within the Republican Party to pave his way back to the White House. One of the rivals is Ron DeSantis, Governor of Florida.

In his usual style, Donald Trump has given his rival a nickname: "Ron DeSanctimonious," the former president said at a rally this Saturday in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.

At the rally, Trump said he and his team were winning "big, big" in the polls for the GOP nomination, ahead of DeSantis and his former vice president, Mike Pence.

DeSantis is currently Trump's biggest threat for the Republican nomination, though most polls have the former president more than 20 points ahead of the Florida governor.
