This town gives 30,000 euros to those who move to live in it

The City Council of the Italian town of Presicce-Acquarica, with just over 10,500 inhabitants, has made a curious appeal to attract the population to that municipality in southern Italy. It is a non-refundable contribution of up to 30,000 euros to buy a home that is intended as a habitual residence.

In reality, Presicce-Acquarica is made up of two towns, Presicce and Acquarica del Capo, which were united into a single municipality in 2019. This town is located in the province of Lecce, in what would be the tip of the heel of the 'boot ' of Italy, an area in which impressive cliffs, picturesque towns, and a great gastronomic culture abound, stand out from Time Out.

Although this municipal tender has not been officially published, some media such as Idealista cite that the municipal administration is polishing the last details, and for now only the conditions of the said initiative are known.

In this way, the city council offers to cover 50% of the expenses incurred for the purchase of a home up to a maximum of 30,000 euros. In other words, that money can only be invested in the purchase or renovation of a property in which you are going to reside within that municipality, and you will have to commit to spending at least 30,000 euros out of your own pocket.

In addition to this initiative, Presicce-Acquarica has launched other calls, such as the one called 'Resto a Presicce-Acquarica', aimed at those who want to return, stay or invest in that town to help repopulate it.

Last year another aid was launched, called 'Nuovi nati', of 1,000 euros for each new birth that took place in the municipality.
