The Japanese authorities have reported that 22 elementary school students from Toyonaka, north of Osaka, have been transferred to a hospital after a "strange smell of sulfur" caused them discomfort, according to the Japanese International Radio and Television Service. NHK.

After a school official notified the Fire Department, of 33 children who presented symptoms, 22 of them have been transferred to a health center. The rest of the students and educational staff have been evacuated from the classrooms and taken to the school gym.

The Firefighters explained that the children, aged between 6 and 11, had mild symptoms.

The emergency services are investigating whether there is an irregularity at the scene, using detectors, but without detecting any anomalous gas for the moment.
