This is how the first coins with the face of Charles III are: the United Kingdom has already begun to manufacture them
The manufacturing process of the first 50 pence coins (57 cents) with the image of King Charles III began this Friday at The Royal Mint mint in Llantrisant (Wales), and they will enter circulation next December.
The portrait of the sovereign was created by sculptor Martin Jennings, who has admitted that seeing the image engraved on those coins was "quite a remarkable experience" while revealing that it took him "months" to achieve the desired result.
To do this, the artist used photos of the sovereign on his 70th birthday. "It has to be an accurate portrait but also one that says something about the enduring values and the institution it represents," the sculptor said of his work.
