Police investigate the case of a woman who claims her father killed more than 50 people and that she helped bury them
A woman from the United States told local media that her father, now deceased, was a serial killer who killed between 50 and 70 people in the state of Iowa, a possibility that authorities are now investigating.
Lucy Studey, 53, says that for years she helped her father bury the victims — mostly young women, but also at least two men — in a rural part of the state.
Studey's father, Donald Dean Studey, has been dead since 2013 when he passed away at the age of 75.
Local and state police and the FBI are investigating the case.
Search with dogs
Authorities recently brought corpse-sniffing dogs to the spot where Studey says these people were buried, and the animals reacted as if there were indeed human remains in the area, though the results are so far inconclusive.
According to Lucy Studey, the crimes would have been committed several decades ago.
Lucy's older sister, Susana Studey, meanwhile, denies that her father was a serial killer and accuses her little sister of lying.
