A Korean Air plane skidded off the runway while trying to land at Cebu International Airport in the Philippines on Sunday night.

The 173 passengers were evacuated by emergency inflatable slides safely and did not suffer any damage.

The aircraft attempted to land twice in bad weather and gusty winds before running out of runway on the third attempt at 11:07 p.m. local time.

The underside of the aircraft was badly damaged with the front landing gear damaged.

The rest of the flights were diverted to Manila and the airport had to close its operations indefinitely.
