The supporters and members of the Brazilian Liberal Party, of the far-right Jair Bolsonaro, continue to carry out incidents of armed violence, this time just one day before the celebration of the presidential elections in Brazil.

Congresswoman Carla Zambelli, from the formation for which Bolsonaro is running for re-election this Sunday, has chased a black journalist, Luan Araújo, through the streets of São Paulo at gunpoint after a discussion about the electoral results, since the journalist was a supporter of Lula la Silva, according to the newspaper O Globo.

When Araújo sought refuge in a bar, Zambelli demanded at gunpoint that the journalist record a video to apologize for insulting her, according to testimony by Araújo and other witnesses.

Apparently, the incident occurred after the deputy heard a group of people chanting the name of Lula (da Silva) as they left a restaurant on Alameda Lorena street. As Zambelli herself has related, when she went out into the street "she was cursed".

The videos broadcast on social networks show how the deputy confronts and tries to attack a man after he blurts out "Tomorrow, Lula." The man walks away and she chases him, but the deputy falls on the sidewalk – although she has later shown the blow to the knee as proof that she has been attacked.

According to O Globo, another man from the group who was also armed would have begun to run carrying his weapon, after which a shot was heard. However, Zambelli continues his pursuit of the first man to a nearby bar, where he tells him to get down and a group of people has interceded.

The deputy has published a video on social networks in which she explains "her version" where she has claimed to have been attacked by a black man and to have transferred these events to the Police. Regarding the persecution, he has defended that he was only trying to hold the attacker until the arrival of the agents in the area.

For its part, the Military Police has confirmed that it received a notice at 4:30 p.m. from a person who had been "offended and pushed" by unidentified persons, "which is why he had taken out the pistol he was carrying."

Zambelli is authorized to carry a weapon due to her status as a federal deputy, however, the Superior Electoral Court of Brazil prohibits civilians and police officers who are not on duty the day before the election to carry weapons within 100 meters of a school electoral.
