At least one person has died and another 69 have been injured in Japan as a result of various incidents caused by typhoon Nanmadol', of which the Japanese authorities have already warned that it will be an "unprecedented" storm.

According to the authorities of the city of Miyakonojo, in the Miyazaki prefecture (south), a fire brigade located the lifeless body of a man inside a vehicle and picks up the Japanese radio and television NHK.

The typhoon has already made landfall in southern Japan and is now moving to the north of the country, endangering much of the Japanese population. In fact, around 9.5 million inhabitants have been evacuated.

"Unprecedented storms, high waves, and tidal waves"
In addition, there have already been power outages in at least 300,000 homes and more than 700 flights have been canceled. Train services have been suspended.

The typhoon could bring "unprecedented storms, high waves and storm surge," the Japan Meteorological Agency said in a statement.

Specifically, on the island of Kyushu, rainfall records are expected from 400 to 600 millimeters in just 24 hours. In Tokai and Kinki prefectures -- both in central Japan -- rains of 300 and 250 millimeters, respectively, are expected.
