At least 15 dead in a multiple traffic accident in southern Turkey

At least 15 people have died after a bus rammed vehicles responding to a traffic accident in Turkey's Gaziantep region in the south of the country, local authorities have reported.

The bus overturned and slid about 200 meters before crashing into the place where the emergency services had concentrated to respond to a previous accident. There was also a press vehicle in the area, according to the Anatolia agency.

Gaziantep Governor Davut Gul has reported at least 15 fatalities and 22 injuries on Twitter. Among the deceased are three firefighters, two health workers, and two journalists.

The highway that connects the towns of Gaziantep and Nizip has been partially closed to traffic due to the incident, the exact causes of which are already being investigated.
