Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov assured this Sunday that France is supplying weapons to Ukraine and has stated that the war will continue "until final victory".

France's support for neo-Nazism

"It is sad for Russia to see France's support for neo-Nazism in Ukraine," Lavrov stressed, in an interview with the French television channel TF1, as reported by the TASS news agency.

"Unfortunately, when it comes to instigating Ukrainian nationalism, neo-Nazism, France is playing one of the key roles. It's sad for us to see it," he stressed.

On the other hand, in his opinion, that France is supplying weapons to Ukraine "means that Russia's calls for years to the West to reach agreements on an equal basis have not simply been ignored, but have been deliberately ignored. It means that The West has never wanted to have equal and cooperative relations with Russia," he concluded.

Since Russian forces invaded Ukraine, French President Emmanuel Macron has held several talks with Vladimir Putin in order to reach agreements to stop the war. They have also been maintained by other leaders such as German Chancellor Olaf Scholz with the same objective.

This Monday and Tuesday the extraordinary meeting convened by the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, will take place, in which the leaders of the European Union will discuss the Russian invasion of Ukraine as well as the sixth package of EU sanctions on Moscow, which it would be the first to include oil sanctions. In this meeting, the Ukrainian president Volodimir Zelenski will also intervene and will do so through videoconference.
