New Moscow offensive in Kherson: "The Russians are massively bombarding the entire region with artillery and missiles"

Russian troops launched a new wave of massive attacks in Kherson, according to alerts from the authorities in that Ukrainian region, in the south of the country.

"The Russians are bombarding the entire region massively with artillery and missiles," reported police sources, reproduced by the Ukrinform portal.

The objective of the attacks is, according to these sources, tall buildings and critical energy facilities, and their intention are to cause "the greatest possible damage" and "cause casualties among the civilian population."

In several Ukrainian cities, the supply of electricity and drinking water was cut off on Monday after the wave of attacks against critical infrastructures, the eighth of these characteristics since last October.

No light for days

The Kyiv authorities reported Tuesday that approximately half the population of the capital and surrounding region will be left without electricity for several days.

The state energy company, Ukrenergo, already announced on Monday the emergency restrictions in several cities of the country derived from the attacks, including Odesa and Mykolaiv, both in the south.

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky stated in a short video posted on his Telegram account that Ukrainian anti-aircraft defenses had managed to shoot down a large part of the missiles launched by Russia.

Zaporizhia, where the country's largest atomic power plant is located, was one of the regions hit by the Russian bombing.
