An earthquake has shaken on Tuesday the soil of California, in the United States. Specifically, the 6.4-magnitude earthquake occurred on the Californian coast twelve kilometers west of the city of Ferndale and about 350 kilometers north of San Francisco. The epicenter of the seismic movement has been 16 kilometers deep

The tremor was registered at 02:34 hours and was followed by two aftershocks, one with a magnitude of 4.6 and another of 3.1 according to the USGS. The authorities are tracking and analyzing the situation, although they have ruled out the risk of a tsunami and so far no damage or injuries have been reported.

Although the possible effects of the tremors have not been clarified, the poweroutage.us portal has reported that more than 50,000 customers have lost power in Humboldt County.
