British Intelligence maintains that Russia has practically "exhausted" its reserves of drones - Shahed 136, the feared Iranian-made unmanned devices that sowed terror in Ukraine last October.

Moscow used those kamikaze drones in its massive attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure and other civilian targets to make up for a shortage of cruise missiles, according to that British report.

Now, however, having launched "hundreds of suicide drone attacks", the British Ministry of Defense understands that the supply of Shahed-136 drones to Russia is also "running out".

"Russia has largely used these weapons against tactical military targets and the Ukrainian power grid. However, recently Russian commanders have also used these Iranian-sourced UAVs against medical facilities," he stresses.

According to this source, no Iranian kamikaze drone attacks have been reported since last November 17. However, he assures that the Kremlin is looking for new suppliers for its arsenal.

"Russia is likely to have nearly exhausted its current stock, but will probably look to restock. Russia can probably acquire UAVs abroad faster than it can make new cruise missiles at home," he said.
