At least 38 dead in a fire at a factory in central China
The fire that has affected a technology plant in the Chinese city of Anyang (center of the country), as reported by the state news agency Xinhua, has left at least 38 dead and two people slightly injured.
At around 4:22 p.m. local time last Monday (8:22 GMT), a fire broke out at the Kaixinda Trading facility in the Wenfeng district, or "High-tech Zone."
At 11:00 p.m. local time (15:00 GMT), the firefighters and the rescue team completed the rescue operations, although the causes of the event are still unknown, and are under investigation.
Videos of the incident circulating on Chinese social networks show how a large flare and column of black smoke originated from the scene.
The injured have been taken to the hospital to receive medical treatment and one or several people related to the incident are in police custody, local media reported, without further details being known.
The event immediately acquired great notoriety in the different social networks of the Asian giant, whose label had received more than 5 million views a few hours later and where condolences to the victims and basic reminders of fire safety accumulated.
