- Russia claims that it is "absurd" to blame Russia for the sabotage of the gas pipeline.
Leaks from the Nord Stream gas pipelines were caused by "powerful explosions"
The Danish Police have concluded that the gas leaks detected in Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 in the Baltic Sea were due to "powerful explosions", in line with investigations that have also been carried out in neighboring Sweden.
In total, the gas pipelines suffered four leaks, two in the dependent exclusive economic zone of Sweden and another two in Denmark. The preliminary investigations carried out so far confirm the hypothesis of sabotage, although at this point no one dares to point the finger.
For its part, the Kremlin said Tuesday that it is "absurd" to try to blame Russia for the sabotage of the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines.
"At least from the statements we heard from Germany, France, and Denmark, this a priori investigation has been aimed at endorsing the responsibility for the sabotage on Russia. It is absurd," emphasized the spokesman for the Russian Presidency, Dmitri Peskov, at his press conference. daily telephone press
He added that the data from the Russian secret services points completely in another direction, alluding to the fact that the biggest beneficiaries of the sabotage would be the United States and Ukraine.
"You just have to use the most elementary logic to understand that such sabotage causes great harm to Russian interests," Peskov stressed.
