The man arrested as a suspect in the violent death of little Olivia Pratt-Korbel, murdered on August 22 when she was at her home in Liverpool (United Kingdom), has been released on bail.

According to the British newspaper The Guardian, a 34-year-old man from Liverpool, who was arrested last Sunday, has been released on parole. Merseyside Police have reported that the other three people suspected of assaulting the killer, aged 29, 34, and 41, have also been released on bail.

The nine-year-old girl died on August 22 at night after receiving the impact of the shots fired by a person who was chasing a thief who had broken into the house.

Olivia's mother, Cheryl Korbel, 46, opened the front door of her home when she heard the commotion outside and when she tried to close it, the attacker fired, injuring her hand. Olivia, who was behind her mother on the stairs, was also seriously injured and died as a result of the gunshots.

The police continue to investigate how the events took place and for this they will review the images recorded by the surveillance cameras in the area, in Dovecot area of ​​Liverpool, to find the perpetrator of the tragic murder. "This is a detailed and complex investigation. Those responsible are not going to confess and say 'here I am.' We have to go and uncover all the evidence," said Assistant Police Chief Chris Green.

In an emotional video message shared on social media by Merseyside Police, the girl's mother, Cheryl Korbel, asks the perpetrator to come forward and confess.

Armed violence for years

Liverpool has suffered from armed violence for many years. Rival drug gangs carry out constant attacks in which innocent people are often injured.

On August 16, Sam Rimmer, 22, was killed while out walking with his friends. Five days later, Ashley Dale, 28, was shot in her front yard "by mistake", police said. In addition, the same day that Olivia died, a woman in her 50s was also stabbed in a pub car park.

Little Olivia's funeral is scheduled for September 15 at a local church and the girl's parents have asked attendees to wear some pink press in her honor.
