At least three killed in a shooting at an Oregon supermarket

At least three people have been killed, including the attacker, in a shooting that occurred on Sunday night in a supermarket in the state of Oregon (USA), local media reported.

The incident occurred around 7:00 p.m. local time at The Forum shopping center in the town of Bend, a small city about 200 kilometers southeast of Salem, the capital of Oregon.

The suspected attacker is among those killed, the Bend Police Department confirmed to ABC News.

Police believe the armed suspect entered the rear of the mall and initially fired into a parking lot of a Costco supermarket and a Big Lots store.

According to the chain, there were no victims in either of these two places.

However, police believe the suspect subsequently entered a Safeway supermarket and shot at least one individual near the entrance, who was taken to a local hospital where he died, police said.

The suspect continued inside the supermarket, shooting and killing at least one other person, police added.

Officers responding to the shooting entered the supermarket and found the shooting suspect dead inside the store. According to the police, the officers did not fire at any time.

Bend Police Chief Mike Krantz told reporters the suspect was carrying an AR-15 rifle and a shotgun. The identities of the suspect and the victims were not revealed, the ABC network said, adding that the event is still under investigation.
