Former Russian President and a key ally of Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Medvedev, has warned in a message to Western leaders about the war in Ukraine that the "Horsemen of the Apocalypse are on their way". Medvedev assures that Moscow will attack cities in the west, close to the EU, if Ukraine uses US-supplied missiles to attack Russia.
Medvedev was at the head of the Russian government between 2018 and 2020 when Putin was re-elected head of the Kremlin, although he already held that position between 2012, when Putin returned to the Kremlin, and early 2018.
The 56-year-old is currently deputy head of Russia's national security council. Last week he wrote about Ukraine and its allies: "I am often asked why my posts on Telegram are so harsh. The answer is that I hate them. They are bastards and degenerates."
"They want death for Russia. And as long as I am alive, I will do everything to make them disappear."
This message was published right after another with the warning that Russia was ready to expand its offensive if its territory was attacked by missiles supplied to Ukraine, The Mirror reports.
"The Horsemen of the Apocalypse are already on their way," Medvedev said.
St. Petersburg native Medvedev's career as the Russian president has been intimately linked with Putin, with whom he has worked closely since 1999, first as campaign manager, head of presidential administration, and then as prime minister.
