May 27, 2022, is the date set by the Center for Near-Earth Object Studies (CNEOS) for the approach of an asteroid that will pass close to Earth.
In fact, according to Live Science magazine, this asteroid is four times larger than the Empire State Building. Under the name 7335 (1989 JA), this asteroid will pass about 4 million kilometers from Earth.
This means that it will not impact the surface, since this distance is 10 times that between the Earth and the Moon. Even so, NASA observes this type of object, since there is a possibility that it will leave its orbit and, therefore, be considered "potentially dangerous".
This denomination has been given because of the 1.8 kilometers in diameter that this rock has and its relatively close proximity to the Earth since if its orbit changed, it could impact the Earth and cause great damage.
Among other curious facts that can be highlighted about this asteroid, which will pass close to our planet around 4:00 p.m., it can be said that its speed is approximately 76,000 km/h, that is, 20 times faster than a bullet.
