The end of cookies in Google services could be getting closer. In recent weeks, the company has explained some of the changes it will make to end them.

Cookies are a small file with data that is saved on the computer each time a user visits a certain page and it is in this file that information about the user is stored, such as their credentials or Internet browsing.

The latter is due to the fact that every time we browse, we leave a mark on the places we visit, and therefore, what Google proposes is that the cookies of its main services are no longer mandatory and users can reject them without affecting their your general browsing or your experience.

All these modifications have been explained by the company in more detail on its website and among some of the changes, we see that data such as location, gender, or the device from which we access will no longer be collected in general in these services.

This is optional for users so that they can eliminate the trace and data collection, although that decision will depend on what each person chooses.

What on the surface may seem very beneficial for users, in reality, it is simply useful when browsing the Internet or if you have accessed the services without logging into a personal account, since if you have a YouTube account, for example, the use of cookies will remain the same.

If, on the other hand, you do not log in to your account to watch a certain video, what happens is that Google does allow you to reject cookies in a very simple way and without affecting the general experience.

The new measure will come into force in the countries of the European Union and France has been chosen as one of the first to test it, although it will not take long to reach Spain.

With all this, it must be taken into account that, although cookies are no longer necessary, the company has other methods to collect information.

In order to see and better understand this new way of using cookies, we will still have to wait. Although Google has been a pioneer in this decision, it is not ruled out that other companies will join this initiative in the future.
